Today, Republican Senators who will serve during the next session of Congress (including current Senators whose terms do not expire in 2011 and the new Senators elected on November 2, 2010) will vote in a closed session of the Senate Republican Conference on a resolution to ban earmarks, offered by Senators Jim DeMint and Tom Coburn.
The resolution would change the policy of the Republican Conference and would ban Republican Senators from requesting earmarks during the 112th Congress. (Click here to see how the current Senators of both parties voted on a measure banning earmarks this past March.)
